A great series, although some of the middle books can be a slog. My reason for deducting three stars is the price. Frank Herbert has been dead for over 30 years. Charging $10 per book, especially for the digital copy, is ridiculous. Adults with disposable income have already read the series. This kind of predatory pricing by the Herbert Estate is only hurting teenagers and young adults who might want to read the classics but can't because of the greed of narcissistic people who think they're entitled to leach off Herbert's efforts.Compare that to the way Andre Norton's estate handles her books. For $10 I was able to get the first 6 books in the Witch World series. Other estate holders keep their classics at $2-3 per book, and only go above that for the very last book in the series. I love this series! It’s a must have for any sci-fi library. I read this back in high school, again in college, and once more when I was on bed rest with one of my children. I loaned my copies out, but never got them back, so I thought I’d replace them. Seriously, $10 a digital copy? I am floored! I think I’ll hit up the used book stores. Sad, very sad!
